Baby Shower and 37 weeks!

Yesterday my good friend Kat put on a baby shower for me. I was flooded with generous gifts and had the joy of seeing wonderful friends. I'm more than ready and prepared now for the arrival of our new little one.

This week also marks milestone week 37. So here I am at my shower showing off the belly, which I think has dropped a bit. The other night I was laying in bed, not breathing well as usual, when all of a sudden I felt like I could take deep breaths. What a relief. Although now my lower back has been killing with the extra weight. At my last appointment I was almost 3 cm dilated so we'll see what this week brings.

Kat made an adorable diaper cake.

Me and my sister, Shonda, she came from Tacoma.

My yummy Costco cake.

The "How Big is her Belly?" game.

Both my Aunt Carol and cousin Megan made me beautiful quilts. This was the one from Carol.

My wonderful friends from my MOMS group at church. What a precious support system to have at this time.
Thank you all for your outpouring of love. I feel so blessed!

35 Weeks

So I'm 35 weeks pregnant today. As of my last appointment the baby had decided to turn around and be in the breech position, not good. My doctor gave me some exercises to do to try and turn her on my own and lo and behold they worked. She's now head down now that's great. I'm also 1 cm dilated, which I know isn't much, but hey, it's progression just the same. I've been having lots of braxton hicks contractions, which aren't crampy painful but definitely cause me to catch my breath and need to breathe through them. Also after checking me, my doctor dislodged my mucous plug, which doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to go into labor soon, but it is a step in the right direction. So we're moving along here.

35 weeks preggers

One thing I really needed and wanted to have done before having this baby was to get my hair done and OH, I feel so much better. Anything to make a girl feel prettier when she's all heavy and busting out!

We're getting closer

I am now about 33 1/2 weeks preggo! Ugh, feels like 55 weeks. But we're in the home stretch now, I can feel it. Christmas and New Year's are over, those were my mileposts. As of my last appointment I've gained about 33 pounds (not a number I'm proud of but it could be worse). And unfortunately, our little one has decided to hang out in the breech position. My doctor gave me some exercises to do to try and turn her around. If that doesn't work then my doctor will try and manipulate her to turn. And if that doesn't help, then I may have to have a C-section. It's not the worst thing in the world, but I've greatly enjoyed having my kids the other way and I'd like to do the same with this one. However, in the end, as long as she and I are safe and healthy, that's all that really matters. I'll keep you posted...
