Fall Pictures

It was such a beautiful day today that I thought I'd take the kids over to Fort Vancouver and get some pictures on Officer's Row. There are gorgeous trees and houses over there, I thought it'd be a great spot. So while they were playing around, I snapped some adorable pics. Take a look.

This is Ethan and I holding hands.

So much fun, I love this time of year!

Our Pumpkins

We grew our own pumpkins this year. If they hadn't been thinned, I'm sure there would be alot more. They were taking over our lawn at one point. But here's what this year's crop yeilded. Who needs the pumpkin patch right? Pumpkins are expensive. We were pretty proud of our little cluster. :)

What a Fun Job!

My first year of coaching jr. high volleyball is done. At first I didn't think I would make it. But as time went on, I got more confidence in myself and I got to know these crazy girls. It ended up being alot of fun, I got to work with an age group I've never really had experience with and share my love of volleyball, and I gained some new babysitters in the process. :) So instead of pictures of them playing, I thought I'd share some of their craziness (and mine) instead.

Fun with balloons at Burgerville, Brianna and Emily.
Our silly team, from left to right: Kayla, Heather, Brianna, Shannon, Coach Baine, me, Brittney, Morgan and Emily.

A little less sillly.

Weird faces.

Fun times in the van.

My Pregnant Sister and Her Baby Shower!

I had the privilege of throwing my older sister, Shonda's, baby shower this last weekend. It's her first baby and she's due about November 24. So far all we know is it's "Baby Blessing" because they chose not to know the gender. I guess we'll see when it makes it's grand entrance.

These first pics I wanted to take of her and try out some fun poses. I love how they turned out and I hope she did too.

I told her she might feel silly but just to go for it and the picture turned out so pretty.

The yummy shower cake.

Many wonderful and generous gifts

A quilt made by our cousin Megan.

Our Mom, soon to be Grandma Nettie for the third time.

An adorable sweater crotcheted by our Aunt Carol
So in all this I realize there wasn't a picture taken of Shonda and I. Grrrr! Oh, well, happy shower, Sis! Love ya!

My celebrity connection!

So I now have a connection to a celebrity that I want to share. I know, I'm lame, but it's the closest I've come. I made a playdate with a boy from Ethan's class named Caleb, that he just loves. They're always together. His mom, Lisa, and little sister, Adora, came over one afternoon for lunch. We were talking about what our husbands do and turns out hers is actor Jonathan Jackson. I'd met him at the pumpkin patch field trip the week before too. He's best known for being on General Hospital since he was 11 as Luke and Laura's son, and won 3 Daytime Emmy's. He was also the lead in the Disney movie "Tuck Everlasting" and still works. So anyway, just thought I'd share, they're a great Christian family which is so refreshing.

Pumpkin Patch Day!

We went on Ethan's field trip to the pumpkin patch again this year. The kids just love it and it wasn't very cold or wet which is always a plus.

I love this picture of Reagan and I. She was so happy to get to be with the big kids and got a new hat and new rubber boots. She was bummed that she wasn't able to ride on the bus though.
Ethan and his new buddy, Caleb. They're inseparable.

Looking at the pigs.

Ethan really liked the goats (but you can't see them).

Class shot on the haystack pyramid. His teacher, Miss Gellert.

Ethan and Caleb on the hayride out to the patch.

So of course my camera dies right before they start to look for pumpkins. But here are the ones they picked.
I love this time of year and wish it lasted longer. It's so crisp and cool, colorful and fresh. Thank you God for the Fall. We love it!

Alumni Day at Multnomah!

Yesterday was Homecoming at Multnomah, where I went to college, such as it is! I just go to play in the alumni volleyball game anyway. :) It was fun to see some of my old teammates and even coaches. Here's some pics of the day.

Some of the jr. high girls that I coach came along to cheer me on, and see what volleyball is supposed to look like. :)
Alumni Picture!

I guess my girls would rather have their faces painted than watch the game. Oh well!
