Build-A-Bear Birthday Party!

Amy, my friend Anna's daughter, had her 5th birthday at Build-A-Bear yesterday. It was really fun for the kids, they got to pick out a bear and an outfit and sing some songs. I wanted to make my own too. Maybe I'll have my 30th birthday party there....:)

Singing a song to get the party started! The birthday girl is the little one in purple.

Natalie, Anna's eldest, really got into the cheer.

Anna and I. I'm still tired from the Portland to Coast event, ugh!

Yarra (from my horseback riding adventure) and baby Nolan.

Yarra's daughter Ava and Reagan.

Amy's bear, Dumplin'.

Reagan "washing" her bear, Bubble Gum.

Crazy kid shot. You can't really tell but Ethan dressed his bear up in a Batman costume, of course. I tried to talk him out of it, but it actually turned out really cute.

Reagan and her silly face.

Portland to Coast Walk Relay!

This weekend I did the Portland to Coast Walk Relay. My friend Kat talked me into it. I was a sub for a team of people that she knew so I didn't know anyone but her. But after spending 36 hours with people, you get to know them pretty good.
I had a great time. However, I'm one of those people that's like, what's the big deal? It's just walking, I don't need to train, it can't be THAT hard. WELL, it was alot harder than I ever thought. I did survive but I'm still reaping the repercussions of not training. My first leg on Friday afternoon was 5 miles, fairly level, but on gravel. I busted my buns trying not to let my team down. I walked a 13.17 minute mile which was way better than I thought I could do. However, I ended up with super sore muscles and a blister on my heal.
The next morning we were up again at about 2am to get our group ready to go. I was to start at about 5am and had to walk, get this, 7.79 miles. I have to say, in all my years of doing sports, this was probably one of the hardest things I've ever done. It was lonely, it was long, it was partly in the dark (got to see the sunrise though, it was beautiful) and totally mental. But I plugged along, taking 2 hours. I was completely exhausted but proud of myself.
So here's some pics of our weekend.

Decorating the Suburban, we were the Trail Cats.

Waiting for our walker to give her some water.

Kat and I, the weather and scenery were ideal.

Walking along!

What's my time, Brandon? (He was our driver and in charge of all our stats:))

Kat with the handoff to Krystal. That girl was bookin'.

Lara all prepped to walked at 4am!

Here's what 2:30am looks like, ugh!

Yay, the finish line in Seaside, OR!

Had to put this in here, Kat got alot of compliments on her fuzzy pink boots! :)

Horeseback Riding 101!

Today my friend, Yarra, and I went horseback riding with a group from my church. She used to be quite the equestrian as a young girl so I thought she'd enjoy it. I, on the other hand, haven't been on a horse since I was eleven. Yah, so that was like 19 years and 45 pounds ago. But we had a great time. I hope it's something we can do again together.

Here we are after our trail ride in 100 degree heat. Luckily most of the ride was in the woods. Notice the nice picturesque poop to the side.

A view from the top.

That's me in the green shirt from Yarra's point of view. My horse Shasta liked to take little snacks from time to time. :)
Yarra atop her noble steed! She belongs up there.

Ethan Turns 5!

We had a party for our little guy on Sunday with some of our family friends and a couple friends from his class at school. They all had a lot fun, but the highlight was the water balloon fight. Ethan had been looking forward to that for a long time. Thanks everyone for making Ethan's 5th birthday so special for him!

The tossing of the birthday boy, apparently we don't do spankings anymore. :)

Our "target" for our water balloon throw

Nick and I trying to pelt each other during the water balloon fight. Somehow I'm the only one that got soaked...

Oh, yah, this is how we roll. Soil for dessert. If anyone wants the recipe, just let me know. Ymmmmmmmm!

Happy Birthday to you, Ethan!
