Going Home

Jordan and I took a little trip back to my home town, Oak Harbor, WA. I love visiting there, it's so peaceful and serene. We only had 2 short days to make our rounds. The first day, Mom, Jordan and I did a little shopping. We have to break her in early that that's one of the things we love to do when we visit each other.

Next we made a visit to my wonderful Spanish teacher from high school, Judy Velasquez, and her husband John. They are so wonderful and act like Jordan is their own grandchild. I always enjoy our little visits. Judy sets out her famous tea and ham salad spread which she used to serve me and my friends when we'd go over to her apartment in high school.

This was the first my grandmother was seeing her 4th great grandchild. She just loved Jordan's red hair. I'm still mystified as to where that came from. My Grandma Layne is going to be 90 this year and she's still kickin'.
She always gives a little rocking chair to her great grandkids as a special little gift. I love my Grandma very much. She's the only grandparent on both Nick's and my side of the family that's still living.

After visiting Grandma Layne on the second day, Mom and I were able to take a little stroll down at City Beach Park. It's so beautiful there. It's not the crashing beaches of the Pacific Ocean, but any beach on any body of water always calms and relaxes my spirit.

I can't wait until I'm able to go back for another visit, but right now this will have to tide me over.

Disco Nite!!!!

Every year our MOMS group puts on a dance outreach. Last year was "MOM Prom". This year we had Disco Night! It was so fun coming up with something to wear and hearing what everyone else was going wear. I tried to go a bit hippie chic.

Before the even a few of us went to Beaches for some dinner and drinks before getting our groove on. I really needed the break too. Nick's been working without a day off for the last 2 1/2 weeks, which means I haven't had any time off either. It's literally been from sunup to sundown. So mama was needing to let loose a bit.

Alison, Mia and Marlene with round #1.
Brian, Angela's husband (bless his heart) was the only guy who went out to eat with us. Pretty much, he was our pimp, seen here, rocking the fake sideburns and chain. :)

Mia, Rose and I were showing our not so spiritual side of being the Evengalism/Discipleship Team at MOMS.

Kat watched Jordan for me while I went out earlier. Jordan was my date and the hit with the husbands at the dance. I'm thinking they just wanted to hold her so they could have excuses not to dance.

And here's some more fun pics of the night. I'm so thankful and blessed to have such wonderfully goofy, fun people in my life! Rock on!

2 Months Old

Jordan is 2 months old today. What a big, loveable, sweet joy she is. She now sleeps about 7 to 8 hours a night for me. Which is good because she's not much of a napper, hence, mommy doesn't nap either. She's just started smiling and cooing alot for us. She's such a sweetheart and we couldn't love her more.

Making Memories

Spring Break here was pretty rainy. A friend of mine set up a day for us and our kids to go to a place called CeramiCafe where you paint your own ceramics. You can do figurines or tiles or dishes. It was really fun. I did this platter with the kids' handprints (Jordan's little foot) on it. I thought it turned out so cute and I want to mount it on my wall somewhere. And what a great idea for gifts for family members as well.

At the Zoo

We had only one sunny day this whole spring break. So we spent the day at the zoo, along with all the other spring breakers. It was still nice to just get out and enjoy the weather. The kids had so much fun running and jumping on the amphitheater green at the zoo. Jordan was with us too but she slept the whole time, that's why there's no pictures of her.
